Born and raised in Skövde, Sweden, the place I still call home and where I live with my husband and dogs. My interest in photography started from a young age and with now many years of experience in professional photography, I know it’s the animals soft and expressive language I love to capture the most. I have worked with animals in over 30 years and my ability to read them makes me extra good at capture just the special moments. Through the years I’ve been portrayed in both magazines and won awards at several photo pages.
After many years of very hard work, I suffered from fatigue syndrome where my always so trusted memory no longer was as sharp as it used to. Photography became part of a recovery process and to help me remember everything amazing I have experienced and done even during these years. This led to photography, around 2015, becoming a part of my profession.
At the same time I took my first step in to the world of photographing manually. 2015 was the first time I took the step into the manual mode in the world of the camera. In addition to a shorter course in photography, my knowledge is self taught and today I work part time as a freelance photographer and regularly hold both standardized and specially designed courses in photography. My style is characterized by the natural and by the moments that are not just for the camera - usually it is the photos that become interesting and sometimes the most beautiful.
Today I work with photographic art in Sweden, Denmark and in Spain, both in the studio and in nature, with both people and animals. The nature motifs are closest to my heart. If I get to choose, I prefer to be outdoors and capture the natural light.
My pictures are exhibited nationally, the pictures adorn the walls of both nursing homes and holiday homes in several places in Västra Götaland. The pictures have been published in magazines and won awards several times in Foto Arte, such as " Photo Of The Day", "Photo Of The Week" and "Coverphoto" where more than 9000 photographers participate. I am also elected to the Swedish Photographers' National Association (more info at sff.se).
Photographers are often asked if we use Photoshop - of yes, in this day it’s a natural part of the editing process. The digital programs equals a modern darkroom where us photographers spend hours on each image to enhance the details that makes the perfect picture.
I don’t use the editing tools to change motifs or retouch. I use them to enhance the beauty that already exists. Everything to make the captured moment get the focus it deserves. What you see in my photographs is what I see through my eyes and my camera lenses. I try to capture that specific feeling I got during the photo session. And if only a small, small part of that feeling spreads to you when you see my photographic art - then I have succeeded.
